The Company: Ceska Zbrojovka AS
Founded in 1919, this Czech Republic manufacturer began production of handguns with the 'Fox'. In 1923 the business obtained a contract to produce pistols for the Czechoslovakian army. Production expanded in the 1020s and 1930s to cover rifles, machineguns, submachine guns, bicycles, artillery, motorcycles and machine tools. During 1975 the company designed and began to manufacture the famous CZ-75 pistol. CZ firearms have been available through normal channels in the US since 1991, through such importers and distributors as Bauska, Action Arms and Magnum Research. Since 1997 CZ products are imported exclusively by CZ-USA, a US based wholly owned subsidiary of the parent company.
