Established under the Decree of Peter I in 1712 and initially called the Tula Arsenal. The plant made weapons for the Russian Army and is known for the Maxim machine gun, Nagant revolver and Mosin Rifle. They were the original producer of the Russian designed Tokarev TT pistols. They are still producing military and civilain weapons today.
