About the Gun

The AF1911 QPQ 70 Series is a stainless, single-stack 1911-style pistol in Government and Commander sizes. It uses Series 70 lockwork with no firing-pin block, a bull barrel, a railed dust cover, ambidextrous thumb safety, extended beavertail, and G10 grips. Frame and slide carry a black QPQ nitride finish rather than the DLC coat used on the companion 70 Series. Sights are Novak-pattern three-dot.

Analysis

Alpha Foxtrot cataloged this pistol as the QPQ-finished 9 mm counterpart to the polished-DLC 70 Series. The 70 Series name keeps Series 70 lockwork; it is not the QPQ 80 Series .45 Auto, which adds a firing-pin block. QPQ 9 mm Government pistols from the same Duluth shop were already on the market by 2019 with Magpul grips and a lower list price. The current SKU keeps the nitride finish and common-use 9 mm 1911 magazines but uses G10 grips and the 70 Series label. No compact, optic-cut, or threaded variant is in this model row. Street prices have run well below list, so used examples are usually closeout guns rather than collector pieces.
