About the Gun

The GSG 1911 AD-OPS is a Government-size 1911-style single-action rimfire pistol with a zinc-alloy frame and slide, a dust-cover accessory rail, a threaded barrel with a faux suppressor, and black checkered polymer grips. It uses fixed three-dot sights, an ambidextrous thumb safety, a beavertail grip safety, and a skeletonized trigger and hammer.

Production began in 2022 and is currently ongoing.

MSRP is around $440. Current used market value for examples in good to very good condition ranges $200–$280.

Analysis

American Tactical introduced the GSG 1911 AD-OPS in 2010 with the first GSG .22 LR 1911s from German Sport Guns. The AD-OPS package added a rail, a threaded barrel, and a faux suppressor to the standard Government rimfire 1911 so the gun could serve as a low-cost tactical trainer. The action is blowback and prefers high-velocity .22 LR. Zinc-alloy slide and frame keep the weight close to a steel centerfire 1911. A gray finish joined the black gun in 2022. The model remains in the catalog. Used examples are common inexpensive rimfire 1911s and do not carry collector premium.
