About the Gun

Compact polymer-grip striker-fired 9 mm pistol with an internal steel chassis inside a polymer frame, using the AF-Speedlock non-tilting barrel and a low bore axis. The Gen 2 grip is modular, with interchangeable backstraps and side panels and removable extenders that change grip length. The slide has a forward relief notch, front and rear serrations, and a dust-cover accessory rail. A flat-faced short-reset trigger, fiber-optic front and black notch rear sights on Glock-pattern dovetails, a higher beavertail, and a deeper trigger-guard undercut are standard. Optics-ready slides and a longer threaded barrel are catalog options

Analysis

Archon introduced the Type B Gen 2 in 2024 as the successor to the 2018–2023 Type B, after moving production to a Czech plant and redesigning the grip module. The AF-Speedlock lockup and steel chassis carried over from the Strike One / first-generation Type B; the new frame added tool-free backstraps, side panels, and grip extenders so one pistol can be set up with short, compact, or extended magazines. Direct-mount RMR, RMS, and ACRO slide cuts and a five-inch threaded barrel joined the iron-sight 4.3-inch gun as factory choices. U.S. volume has stayed modest next to the major polymer strikers, so the Gen 2 still appears irregularly on the used market.
