Analysis

Beretta introduced the Model 89 in the mid-1980s as a dedicated .22 LR target pistol. It is a single-action blowback gun with a fixed monoblock barrel locked by the counterweight, built for competition and range work rather than as a long 87. U.S. catalogs listed it from 1986. The Standard uses contoured walnut grips and a 21-serration slide. Regular Standard production ran through the mid-1990s. Used boxed examples with original magazines and spare fronts sit at the top of the range.
