About the Gun

This is an enhanced version of Beretta's classic 92 series of pistols, with the most obvious difference being the appearance; the 90two series have an 'ergonomically enhanced' design, with a 'technopolymer' interchangeable wrap-around style grip. Also notable is an accessory rail on the dust cover of the pistol, allowing various light/laser accessories to be attached. Similar to the 92 series, the frame is constructed of a light alloy, and the slide and barrel are constructed of steel. The rough edges that the previous 92 models had have been smoothed out, for a more 'snag-free' design. Included with the pistol is an accessory rail cover, which protects the rail when an accessory is not attached.

Analysis

This .40 S&W pistol offers a solid option for shooters seeking a reliable duty or personal defense firearm. Its accuracy is commendable, with consistent performance at moderate ranges, aided by a well-designed barrel and sight system. Ergonomically, the grip contours fit a wide range of hand sizes, enhancing control during extended sessions. Reliability is a key asset, as it functions smoothly under various conditions with minimal malfunctions when properly maintained. However, maintenance can be somewhat cumbersome due to a complex disassembly process, which may frustrate less experienced users. Parts availability can also be an issue in some regions, potentially delaying repairs. The trigger pull is crisp, averaging around 5-6 pounds in single action, though some may find the double-action pull heavier than preferred. Felt recoil is manageable for most, though it can be sharp due to the potent caliber and lighter frame.
