About the Gun

The Beretta 92 pistol evolved from earlier Beretta designs, most notably the M1922 and M1951. From the M1922 comes the open slide design, while the alloy frame and locking block barrel were first used in the M1951. The grip angle and the front sight integrated with the slide were also common to earlier Beretta pistols. The Beretta 92 first appeared in 1975 and was designed by Carlo Beretta, Giuseppe Mazzetti and Vittorio Valle, all experienced firearms designers on the Beretta design team.

Production

Analysis

This 9mm semi-automatic pistol is a well-regarded option for shooters seeking a balance of performance and practicality. Its accuracy is noteworthy, delivering consistent groupings at moderate ranges, thanks to a solid barrel design and sight alignment. Ergonomically, the grip offers a comfortable hold for most hand sizes, aiding in control during extended sessions. Reliability is a strong point, with the firearm functioning dependably across various conditions and ammunition types. However, maintenance can be somewhat demanding, requiring regular attention to prevent wear on critical components. Parts availability may pose challenges in certain regions, potentially delaying repairs. The trigger pull, while smooth in double-action mode, can feel heavy for some users at around 10-12 pounds, though single-action is lighter and crisper. Felt recoil is moderate, manageable for most, but may be noticeable during rapid fire for less experienced shooters.
