Analysis

This 9mm semi-automatic pistol, widely recognized in both military and civilian circles, offers a solid blend of performance and design. Its accuracy is commendable, delivering consistent shot placement in various conditions, while the ergonomic grip provides a comfortable hold for most users, aiding in control during extended sessions. Reliability is a key asset, with a proven track record of functioning well under stress, though it demands regular maintenance to sustain peak performance. On the downside, sourcing replacement parts can be a challenge in some regions, and the maintenance routine may feel cumbersome for less experienced owners. The trigger pull, while smooth in double-action mode, can be heavy for some, potentially affecting precision. Felt recoil is moderate, manageable for most shooters, but those sensitive to kick might notice it during rapid fire. Overall, it’s a dependable choice with considerations for upkeep and user preference.

Reliable

I have large hands and arthritis. I can shoot this gun all day and not hurt when I'm done. If you like a robust, extremely reliable all steel gun, this is it.

Great Surplus Pistol
By Diecapsule78 on 02 Apr 2020
Bought an Italian Police turn-in a few years ago for around $300. Best surplus pistol my money has bought to date. Had what appeared to be a brand new barrel installed, extremely clean & shoots everything I've put through it without so much as a hiccup. Slide is very smooth yet crisp for an older model. Decocker resets trigger to double action which is the way most carry a 92. Only draw backs would be the Euro mag release which honestly doesn't bother me in the least but I love old European pistols so this is really a matter of preference more than a drawback. You also have to make sure you get the correct mags with the notch in the right spot. If not you can easily add the notch with a Dremel. Worst part about the gun IMO is the sights. They arent very big which makes it a little hard to see. I own several types of pistols, make & mfg. Beretta, Colt, CZ, Taurus, Star, Maker of, etc. This Beretta 92S is one of my favs. I wouldn't personally use it as a carry gun due to the weight/size

heavy duty

If you like holding a gun that feels robust, this is the one. It has the European style mag release if that's important to you. The safety/decocker is backwards to most guns, so if I was going to carry it, I would carry with the safety off. It will shoot anything you can throw at it. The grips are slick, so I installed a wrap around rubberized grip, but I have large hands. Great quality.
