Full-size DA/SA locked-breech pistol with an alloy frame and an open-top steel slide. Slide-mounted safety/decock lever. Plastic grips. Bruniton finish. No accessory rail on this variant.

Analysis

The U.S. Army adopted the Beretta 92F as the M9 on 14 February 1985. The 1987–88 running change added the enlarged hammer pin and slide groove that became the 92FS standard; later military M9 pistols follow that drawing. Commercial M9-marked guns are the civilian 92FS in service configuration. The M9A1 added a rail and a reworked grip. Issued and commercial M9 pistols are common on the used market. Boxed commercial examples sit at the top of the value range.
