About the Gun

Stampede series revolvers are modern reproductions of classic 19th century old west single-action revolvers. They replicate the dimensions, cosmetics and feel of the legendary Old West sidearm, while discretely incorporating the most modern safety features and manufacturing materials. Also, the feel and functioning is like the originals, with a multiple-click single-action hammer mechanism and a half-cock position that allows the cylinder to spin free. Stampede revolvers are actually produced at the Uberti Aldo & Co. manufacturing facility, which was acquired by Beretta in 2000.

Analysis

This single-action revolver in .357 Magnum offers a compelling blend of traditional design and practical performance for enthusiasts of classic firearms. Its accuracy is noteworthy, delivering consistent groupings at moderate ranges when paired with quality ammunition. The ergonomics are well-suited for shooters who appreciate a grip design inspired by historical patterns, providing a natural hand fit that aids in control during firing. Reliability is a strong point, with a robust build that handles regular use without frequent issues. However, maintenance can be somewhat demanding, requiring diligent care to preserve the finish and mechanical components. Parts availability may pose challenges for repairs or customization, as they are not as widely accessible as for more common models. The trigger pull is crisp and predictable, averaging around 3-4 pounds, while felt recoil is moderate, manageable for most shooters with proper technique, though it can feel sharp with hotter loads.
