About the Gun

Stampede series revolvers are modern reproductions of classic 19th century old west single-action revolvers. They replicate the dimensions, cosmetics and feel of the legendary Old West sidearm, while discretely incorporating the most modern safety features and manufacturing materials. Also, the feel and functioning is like the originals, with a multiple-click single-action hammer mechanism and a half-cock position that allows the cylinder to spin free. Stampede revolvers are actually produced at the Uberti Aldo & Co. manufacturing facility, which was acquired by Beretta in 2000.

Production

Production of this specific firearm with the described features began in 2004 and continued until 2012. It was part of a line inspired by classic Western designs, crafted for enthusiasts of historical replicas during that period.

Analysis

This single-action revolver in .45 Colt caliber offers a nod to historical design while delivering commendable performance for enthusiasts of classic firearms. Its accuracy proves reliable at moderate ranges, making it suitable for casual target shooting or cowboy action events. The ergonomics are well-suited for users familiar with traditional revolver grips, providing a comfortable hold during extended sessions. Reliability is a strong point, with consistent function under typical conditions. However, maintenance can be more demanding due to the intricacies of its design, requiring regular care to prevent wear. Availability of replacement parts may pose challenges, as they are not as widely stocked as for more modern designs. The trigger pull is crisp, averaging around 3.5 pounds, which aids precision. Felt recoil, while noticeable with full-power loads, remains manageable for most shooters with proper technique, though it may fatigue newer users over time.
