Analysis

The Thunder 9 Pro (also called Thunder Pro HC) is the upgraded full-size version of the earlier Thunder 9 in Bersa’s locked-breech series. It was developed as a military/law-enforcement style sidearm and added a Picatinny rail, ambidextrous controls, a loaded-chamber indicator, polygonal rifling, and an improved Petter-Browning locking system to the alloy-frame DA/SA layout of the prior Thunder 9. It retained the double-stack high-capacity magazine design of the full-size model. The Pro series was positioned as the modernized service option in the Thunder line. Later TPR (Thunder Pro Redesigned) models superseded it. The Thunder 9 Pro is discontinued.
