About the Gun

Witness pistols are produced in Italy by Fratelli Tanfoglio S.N.C. and are based on their 'Combat' model, whose action is patterned after the CZ 75. They are semi-automatic double action pistols made entirely of high strength steel. They have rubber grips and a reversible magazine catch.

About the Cartridge

This cartridge was developed as a joint venture between Winchester and Smith & Wesson. It was an effort to to create a cartridge with the same power as the 10mm Norma round that the FBI had just started using, but in a shorter case. The shorter cartridge would facilitate accuracy and allow use of a smaller, more comfortable grip frame. The .40 S&W has become the cartridge of choice for many law enforcement agencies in the United States.

Great Full-sized Pistol

My example is extremely accurate, very good grip texture, nice light trigger, easy field stripping, easier to rack that one might think with a full-sized 40S&W. It's a shame it was discontinued.
