The double-action only (DAO) variants can have a safety-only lever on either the left or right side of the frame, or no safety lever at all. DAO variants have a bobbed hammer.

Analysis

This .40 S&W stainless pistol from a renowned German manufacturer offers notable precision, thanks to its match-grade barrel and tight tolerances, making it a reliable choice for target shooting and duty use. The ergonomic grip design accommodates a wide range of hand sizes, enhancing control during extended sessions. Its robust construction ensures consistent performance under demanding conditions, with a reputation for durability across high round counts. The trigger pull is crisp, averaging around 4.5 pounds in single-action mode, providing a predictable break that aids accuracy. Felt recoil is moderate for the caliber, manageable for most shooters with proper grip technique. However, maintenance can be intricate due to the complex design, requiring attention to detail during disassembly. Additionally, sourcing replacement parts may pose challenges in some regions, and the weight might feel cumbersome for concealed carry users seeking lighter options.
