About the Gun

The smallest model in Kahr's Value Series, the CM Series takes its features from Kahr's CW series (3.6 inch barrel in 9mm, .40 SW and .45 ACP) and incorporates them into a smaller 3 inch barrel package (3.24 inch for the CM45). The CM9 has the same external dimensions as the PM9 which make it ideal for concealed carry. Kahr pistols are striker-fired locked-breech designs, relying on a modification of the Browning dropping-barrel system with a lug above the chamber locking the barrel into the roof of the slide.

Production

Production of this firearm began in 2011, with the specific Kryptek camo finish variant introduced around 2015. Manufacturing continues to the present, reflecting ongoing demand for this compact design.

Analysis

This 9mm compact pistol offers a solid option for concealed carry and personal defense. Its accuracy is commendable for its size, delivering consistent performance at typical self-defense ranges. The ergonomic design fits comfortably in most hands, with a low bore axis that helps manage recoil effectively. Speaking of recoil, it remains moderate and controllable, even during rapid fire, making follow-up shots easier. The trigger pull is smooth, with a clean break around 5-6 pounds, which suits a wide range of shooters. On the downside, maintenance can be somewhat tedious due to the tight tolerances, requiring meticulous cleaning to ensure reliability. Parts availability may pose a challenge, as aftermarket support is limited compared to more common platforms. Additionally, some users with larger hands might find the grip a bit cramped. Overall, it’s a reliable choice, though not without minor drawbacks for specific users.

Excellent, Micro 9mm

Excellent, high quality build throughout the gun. Extremely mild shooter. Smooth Striker Fired DAO is one of the best. Ideal for a small EDC firearm. Shoots softer than other larger guns in the same class. Nice sights. Hard to find a better handling gun especially in this size.
