About the Gun

Part of Kahr's Premium Series, the steel frame K Series was the first series Kahr produced, starting in the 1990's. Features include a Lothar Walther 3.5” polygonal rifled match grade barrel, smooth DAO trigger, stainless or blackened stainless slide and an option for night sights. Kahr pistols are striker-fired locked-breech designs, relying on a modification of the Browning dropping-barrel system with a lug above the chamber locking the barrel into the roof of the slide.

Production

Analysis

This compact .40 S&W pistol offers a solid blend of precision and concealability, making it a viable choice for both carry and range use. Its accuracy is commendable, with tight groupings achievable at moderate distances due to a well-designed barrel and sight system. Ergonomically, the grip fits comfortably in most hands, aiding in control during rapid fire. Reliability is a strong point, as it consistently cycles a variety of ammunition without frequent malfunctions. However, maintenance can be somewhat cumbersome, requiring more effort to disassemble and clean compared to other models in its class. Availability of replacement parts may also pose a challenge for some owners. The trigger pull is smooth but on the heavier side, which might not suit shooters preferring a lighter break. Felt recoil is noticeable, given the caliber and lightweight frame, potentially affecting follow-up shots for less experienced users.
