About the Gun

Part of Kahr's Premium Series, the MK Series is a high quality thin profile subcompact, pocket carry handgun model with a steel frame. Features include a Lothar Walther 3” polygonal rifled match grade barrel, DAO trigger, stainless or blackened stainless slide and an option for night sights. Kahr pistols are striker-fired locked-breech designs, relying on a modification of the Browning dropping-barrel system with a lug above the chamber locking the barrel into the roof of the slide.

Analysis

This compact 9mm pistol offers a solid choice for concealed carry and personal defense. Its accuracy is commendable for a firearm of its size, delivering consistent performance at typical self-defense ranges. The ergonomic design fits comfortably in most hands, with a grip that aids in control during firing. Reliability is a strong suit, as it functions well under various conditions with proper care. However, maintenance can be somewhat cumbersome due to its compact frame, requiring more attention to detail during cleaning. Availability of replacement parts may pose a challenge for some users, potentially leading to delays in repairs. The trigger pull is smooth but on the heavier side, which might not suit everyone, especially those accustomed to lighter triggers. Felt recoil is moderate, manageable for most shooters, though smaller-framed individuals might find it slightly more pronounced during extended sessions.
