About the Gun

Part of Kahr's Premium Series. Features include a Lothar Walther polygonal rifled match grade barrel, smooth DAO trigger, stainless or blackened stainless slide and an option for night sights. Kahr pistols are striker-fired locked-breech designs, relying on a modification of the Browning dropping-barrel system with a lug above the chamber locking the barrel into the roof of the slide.

Analysis

This compact .40 S&W pistol offers a solid option for concealed carry and personal defense. Its accuracy is commendable for a firearm of its size, delivering consistent performance at typical self-defense ranges. The ergonomic design fits well in most hands, providing a secure grip despite its smaller frame. Reliability is a key asset, with the pistol functioning smoothly under varied conditions, even with different ammunition types. However, maintenance can be somewhat cumbersome due to the tight tolerances, requiring extra care during disassembly and cleaning. Availability of replacement parts may also pose a challenge for some users, as they are not as widely stocked as those for more common models. The trigger pull is crisp but on the heavier side, which might not suit everyone. Felt recoil is noticeable, as expected in this caliber, though it remains manageable with proper technique.
