About the Gun

Part of Kahr's Premium Series, the PM Series is a high quality thin profile subcompact, pocket carry handgun model with a polymer frame. Features include a Lothar Walther polygonal rifled match grade barrel, DAO trigger, stainless or blackened stainless slide and an option for night sights. Kahr pistols are striker-fired locked-breech designs, relying on a modification of the Browning dropping-barrel system with a lug above the chamber locking the barrel into the roof of the slide.

Analysis

This compact 9mm pistol is a noteworthy option for concealed carry, offering a balance of size and performance. Its accuracy is commendable for a firearm of this class, delivering consistent groupings at typical self-defense ranges. The ergonomics are well-suited for smaller hands, with a grip design that aids in control despite the lightweight frame. Reliability is a strong point, as it cycles smoothly with a variety of ammunition under standard conditions. However, maintenance can be somewhat cumbersome due to the tight tolerances, requiring more attention to detail during cleaning. Availability of replacement parts may also pose a challenge for some users. The trigger pull is crisp, averaging around 6 pounds, which supports precision but may feel stiff to newer shooters. Felt recoil is moderate, manageable for most, though it can be sharp during extended sessions without proper grip technique.

KAHR PM9/ CM9

Excellent pistol; trigger emulates revolver double action (not Glock) that, with practice (as with revolver DA) is predictable and as "smooth as butter". Good capacity with robust aftermarket accessories. Comfortable to shoot. Highly recommend these pistols!

Top of the Line in this class of Micro 9mm's

Excellent quality, beautiful gun. Surprisingly Mild and soft shooting for it's size. Capable of very high volume shooting. Notorious smooth Striker Fired DAO that is controlled, and deliberate, ideal for this size firearm. One of the smallest in class but handles better than larger guns.

Horrible trigger, not +1 capacity

Model PM9093, Massachucettes compliant with LCI and external safety. Extremely long trigger pull. It pulls me off POA before it breaks. Finicky with ammo, preferring hot loads without a large hollowpoint cavity. Manufactures literature claims +1 capacity, but manufacturer states do not insert a full magazine with the slide closed or damage to the magazine will occur.
