About the Gun

Kahr's S Series models feature a redesigned magazine base and grip, conventional barrel rifling, white 3-dot sights, front serrations on the slide, an accessory rail, and an ID tag on the grip. Kahr pistols are striker-fired locked-breech designs, relying on a modification of the Browning dropping-barrel system with a lug above the chamber locking the barrel into the roof of the slide.

Analysis

This 9mm pistol offers a compelling package for shooters seeking a reliable carry or range option. Its accuracy is commendable, delivering consistent groupings at moderate distances, while the ergonomic design ensures a comfortable grip for a variety of hand sizes, enhancing control during extended sessions. Reliability is a strong suit, with the firearm cycling smoothly through various ammunition types under typical conditions. The trigger pull is crisp, averaging around 5.5 pounds, which aids in precise shot placement, though some may find it slightly heavy for rapid follow-ups. Felt recoil is moderate, manageable for most users, even during prolonged use. On the downside, maintenance can be somewhat cumbersome due to a less intuitive disassembly process, and sourcing replacement parts may pose challenges for some owners. Additionally, shooters with smaller hands might find the grip texture overly aggressive over time.
