Analysis

This compact semi-automatic hit the market as a post-WWII evolution from earlier Llama models like the I and II. Early Series examples used a locked-breech system and high-polish bluing, with “Especial” variants featuring checkered walnut grips and occasional nickel finish. In 1970 the Series 2 lengthened the slide slightly, added an adjustable rear sight, angled slide serrations, and the distinctive sand-blasted slide top. Cost pressures in the 1980s prompted the shift to simpler blowback operation (Series 3 and later), shorter overall length, fixed sights, and utilitarian black plastic grips—some retaining thumb-rest panels for better control. Though never accorded the prestige of Beretta or Walther contemporaries, the III A earned a modest reputation for reliability at a budget price and remains a practical pocket pistol.

This is a nice pistol. It fits my had perfectly, shoots reliably and comfortably. It's very accurate in my shooting sessions.
