About the Gun

Guardian pistols are built on two different-sized frames. The smaller one is chambered in 32 ACP and 25NAA, and the slightly larger one is chambered in 380 ACP and 32NAA. The inspiration for these pistols was the venerable Seecamp pistol, which seemed to enjoy its own size niche and following. The two calibers, 25NAA and 32NAA, were created specifically for chambering in the Guardian pistol. Aside from the small size, notable characteristics include a 1911-style magazine release, the absence of a magazine-disconnect safety and an external button to allow simple takedown of the weapon for cleaning (as opposed to the use of pins or nails to trip an internal release).

Production

Production of this firearm began in 1997 and continued until 2012. It was manufactured during this period, with various configurations available to meet different preferences and needs of users over those years.

Analysis

This compact .32 Auto pistol offers a unique design tailored for concealed carry and personal defense. Its accuracy is commendable for a firearm of this size, delivering consistent performance at close to medium ranges. The ergonomics are well-suited for smaller hands, with a grip that facilitates a secure hold, though larger-handed users might find it less comfortable. Reliability is a strong point, as it functions smoothly with proper ammunition, showing minimal malfunctions during extended testing. However, maintenance can be somewhat cumbersome due to its intricate design, requiring more effort to disassemble and clean. Parts availability is another concern, as sourcing replacements may prove challenging. The trigger pull is crisp, averaging around 5 pounds, which aids precision but might feel stiff for some. Felt recoil is mild, making it manageable for most shooters, even during rapid fire.
