About the Gun

Rohrbaugh pistols are precision CNC machined from solid billets of stainless steel for the slide, barrel and smaller internal parts. Frames are from 7075-T651 aluminum billets. Parts are then hand fit for a superior self-defense weapon where size, weight and deep concealment are of consideration. The R9 Stealth slides are coated with Diamond Black (DLC), which reduces friction, increases wear resistance and has anti-galling properties. The Elite slides are then hand-sanded to reveal silver-color highlights of the stainless steel.

Analysis

This compact 9mm pistol offers a refined design tailored for concealed carry and personal defense. Its accuracy is commendable, delivering tight groupings at moderate ranges due to a well-engineered barrel and sight system. Ergonomically, the grip fits comfortably in smaller hands, though larger-handed users may find it less accommodating. Reliability is a strong suit, with consistent performance across various ammunition types during extended testing. The trigger pull is smooth, averaging around 5 pounds, providing a crisp break that aids precision. Felt recoil is moderate for its class, manageable for most shooters with proper grip technique. On the downside, maintenance can be intricate, requiring patience for disassembly and cleaning. Availability of replacement parts may pose challenges, potentially delaying repairs. Additionally, the compact size might not suit users seeking a full-sized duty weapon, limiting its versatility for some applications.
