Analysis

This .22 LR semi-automatic pistol offers a compelling package for target shooting and plinking. Its bull barrel design enhances accuracy by reducing muzzle flip, allowing for consistent shot placement, especially at moderate ranges. The ergonomic grip, inspired by classic designs, provides a natural hold for most shooters, aiding in control and comfort during extended sessions. Reliability is generally solid with quality ammunition, though occasional feeding issues may arise with lower-grade rounds. The trigger pull is crisp, averaging around 4-5 pounds, which suits precision work well. Felt recoil is negligible, making it an excellent choice for beginners and seasoned shooters alike. However, disassembly and maintenance can be cumbersome, requiring patience and familiarity with the design. Additionally, sourcing replacement parts may pose challenges due to limited availability. Overall, it’s a capable option for casual and competitive use, provided users are prepared for its upkeep demands.

Back in the day

I had this handgun in my early 20s and it never failed me. I believe Ruger QC has gone down recently. Their guns used to be great, not so much anymore. Perfect little plinking gun which can still serve as self defense if of you really need it.

Accurate but VERY difficult to clean
By babbalou1569 on 31 Mar 2019
Very accurate with most ammo. I tried 17 different types of .22 LR ammo & nothing shot over 2 1/2" at 25 yards. 4 brands shot just under 1". Ten shots you could cover with a quarter. This was when I used my FastFire 3 sight. Trigger's not bad but I upgraded. Volquartsen trigger, much nicer. Sights are ok but I like my red dot. Grip is ok but I put a rubber grip sleeve on it with finger grooves. Some of these Mark 3s you can replace the grip panels, others the grips panels are part of the frame & can't be removed. One piece, no screws. This pistol s nice to shoot but the take down procedure is as difficult as everyone says. Did that 4 times & finally bought an ultrasonic cleaner for that. MUCH easier to clean now. Most malfunctions are ammo related. The occasional dud loads, maybe 2-3 per box of 50 if it's cheap stuff, the good stuff almost never fails.
