Analysis

This single-action revolver in .22 LR caliber offers a compelling blend of precision and user-friendly design for shooters of varying experience levels. Its accuracy is noteworthy, delivering consistent performance at short to medium ranges, making it a solid choice for plinking or small game hunting. The ergonomics are well-considered, with a grip that fits comfortably in most hands, promoting extended use without fatigue. Reliability is a strong point, as the mechanism functions smoothly under regular conditions with minimal malfunctions. However, maintenance can be somewhat cumbersome, requiring careful attention to detail during cleaning to avoid wear on components. Parts availability may pose challenges for some users, particularly for older units needing repair. The trigger pull is crisp and predictable, averaging around 3-4 pounds, which aids in shot placement. Felt recoil is negligible, ensuring a pleasant shooting experience even for novices.

I have owned many rim fire revolvers and I can say that the vast majority of the available ones are not very well built. However the Ruger Single Six and it’s variants are very well built and with quality materials. Even the colt variant of this classic firearm was disappointing when compared to the Ruger. Would have given 5 stars if they had made the frame at least with the model I had for review out of steel.
