About the Gun

The 1911 XO is a full-size single-action 1911-style pistol built on a stainless-steel frame and slide finished in Nitron. It is fitted with Ergo XT polymer grips and low-profile or adjustable combat night sights. Controls follow the classic 1911 layout with a grip safety and manual thumb safety. Some examples include an accessory rail; most are non-railed.

Analysis

SIG positioned the XO as a straightforward, duty-oriented full-size 1911 within the Revolution series. The all-Nitron finish and polymer grips gave it a more utilitarian appearance compared with the wood-grip or two-tone models of the same period, while still incorporating the external extractor, match-grade components, and stainless construction characteristic of early SIG 1911 production. Availability in both .45 Auto and the higher-pressure 357 SIG broadened its appeal for defensive and law-enforcement roles.
