Analysis

The P220 Match Elite variants applied the full Elite package to a long-slide platform with a 5-inch barrel, focusing on improved accuracy and muzzle velocity. The reverse two-tone 10mm version and the all-stainless .45 ACP version were both produced in 2015 as distributor-exclusive models. The extended barrel increased sight radius and added forward weight that aided stability during aimed fire, while the short-reset trigger and beavertail frame extension supported better control and higher hand positioning. The heavier stainless steel frame construction provided the necessary strength and recoil management, particularly for the 10mm Auto chambering. These models represent a specialized precision evolution of the P220 platform during a period when SIG Sauer offered limited high-performance configurations before placing greater emphasis on Legion and other updated variants.
