About the Gun

The P226 Combat is a tactical-oriented full-size double-stack model featuring a black Nitron finish on the stainless steel slide and a Flat Dark Earth (FDE) hard-coat anodized aluminum alloy frame. It includes an accessory rail, front slide cocking serrations, SIGLITE night sights, and was produced with both standard and threaded barrel (TB) options.

Analysis

The P226 Combat was developed as a more tactical version of the P226 platform, incorporating features such as an accessory rail for weapon-mounted lights and front slide serrations for improved manipulation. The Flat Dark Earth frame finish provided a distinctive tactical appearance and improved corrosion resistance. The threaded barrel variant (Combat TB) added suppressor capability, making it suitable for specialized tactical and law enforcement applications. Produced primarily in 9mm during the mid-to-late 2010s, it represented SIG Sauer’s effort to offer modernized tactical configurations on the proven P226 design.
