Analysis

The P226 Elite SAO provided shooters who preferred a consistent single-action trigger pull and manual thumb safety with a refined option on the P226 platform. It incorporated the full Elite ergonomic package, including the beavertail, front serrations, improved checkering, and short-reset trigger, while replacing the decock lever with an ambidextrous safety. Produced primarily in black Nitron finish with black polymer grips during the late 2000s to mid-2010s, it offered a 1911-style manual of arms on the proven double-stack P226 design. This variant represents one of the specialized trigger configurations offered by SIG Sauer before greater emphasis was placed on the Legion series.
