The P226 TACOPS is a tactical-oriented full-size double-stack model featuring a black Nitron finish on the stainless steel slide and a black hard-coat anodized aluminum alloy frame. It includes a 4.9-inch threaded barrel, accessory rail, front slide cocking serrations, Short Reset Trigger (SRT), and SIGLITE night sights. It was produced in 9mm and .40 S&W.

The P226 TACOPS was developed as a modern tactical version of the P226 platform with features popular among law enforcement and armed professionals.
