About the Gun

The P238 LEGION is a micro-compact, single-action-only .380 ACP pistol built on an aluminum-alloy frame with a stainless-steel slide. It carries the Legion series treatment, including a gray Cerakote finish, front cocking serrations, X-RAY3 day/night sights, a precision-machined aluminum trigger, and black G10 grips with the Legion medallion. An ambidextrous manual safety and extended magwell are standard. The design follows the 1911-style control layout of the P238 family.

Analysis

SIG introduced the P238 LEGION to bring the company’s higher-end Legion package to its long-running micro-compact single-action .380 platform. The upgrades—refined trigger, G10 grips, XRAY3 sights, extended magwell, and distinctive Legion Gray finish—positioned it above the standard cosmetic variants of the P238. Like the related P938 LEGION, it represented the premium end of SIG’s metal-frame, single-action pocket pistols. As the polymer P365-380 and broader P365 family took over the soft-shooting micro-compact segment, production of the P238 line, including the Legion version, was phased down.
