While P228 has a double-stack magazine for 12 rounds, P239 has a single-stack magazines for 7 or 8 rounds (depending on caliber). Analysis

This 9mm double-action-only pistol offers a consistent trigger pull, averaging around 6.5 pounds, which provides a predictable and smooth experience for shooters who value uniformity in every shot. Its accuracy is commendable, delivering tight groupings at typical defensive ranges, while the ergonomic design ensures a comfortable grip for a wide range of hand sizes. Reliability is a strong point, with the firearm performing well under varied conditions and with different ammunition types. Felt recoil is moderate, manageable for most users, though follow-up shots may require slight adjustment for newer shooters. On the downside, maintenance can be somewhat involved, requiring attention to detail during disassembly and cleaning. Additionally, sourcing replacement parts may pose challenges due to limited availability in some regions. This handgun suits those prioritizing consistent performance, though it may not be ideal for users seeking simplicity in upkeep.
