About the Gun

The P239 Tactical is a compact, single-stack, double-action/single-action pistol with a threaded barrel for suppressor use. It features a stainless steel slide over an aluminum alloy frame with traditional SIG controls and a Short Reset Trigger. It is offered primarily in 9mm with a Nitron finish and SIGLITE night sights.

Analysis

SIG developed the P239 Tactical to meet demand for a suppressor-ready compact pistol suitable for law enforcement and tactical use. It builds on the standard P239 platform by adding a threaded barrel and Short Reset Trigger while retaining the slim single-stack design. This variant was produced in limited numbers alongside other P239 models and was discontinued when the platform ended in 2018. It represents SIG’s response to the growing interest in suppressor-capable handguns in a concealable package.
