About the Gun

The P320 Carry Nitron is a medium-size, striker-fired polymer pistol that pairs a compact-length slide and 3.9-inch barrel with a full-size grip frame. This combination provides the higher capacity and more substantial grip of a full-size frame while keeping overall length closer to a compact. It features a Nitron-finished stainless steel slide, an accessory rail, and was offered with either steel contrast or SIGLITE night sights. The model was available in 9mm, .40 S&W, and .357 SIG.

Production ran from 2014 through the late 2010s.

Analysis

SIG introduced the Carry size early in the P320’s production run as a practical middle ground between full-size duty pistols and more compact options. By combining the full-size grip (and its capacity) with a shorter slide, the design addressed demand for a concealable yet controllable pistol that still offered substantial firepower. The modular fire-control unit allowed easy caliber and size changes, which was a key selling point when the platform launched in 2014. Over time, the classic Nitron Carry configuration was largely superseded by X-Series and other upgraded variants as SIG refined the ergonomics and features of the line. The .40 S&W and .357 SIG versions saw shorter production lives as market preference shifted strongly toward 9mm.
