About the Gun

The P320 is a polymer-framed service pistol designed with the input of law enforcement officers. The result is an operator-safety focused striker duty pistol. Taking into account the concerns of military and police training officers, the P320 does not require the operator to pull the trigger nor use a special tool to take-down the firearm for cleaning or routine maintenance. It features a modular grip frame and removable fire control assembly, interchangeable grip panels, lower Picatinny rail, front and rear slide serrations.

Analysis

This compact 9mm pistol offers a compelling package for both novice and experienced shooters. Its accuracy is commendable, delivering consistent groupings at typical defensive ranges, thanks to a well-designed barrel and sight system. Ergonomically, the grip provides a natural fit for a wide range of hand sizes, enhancing control during rapid fire. Reliability is a key asset, with the firearm performing consistently under varied conditions, even with extended use. The trigger pull is smooth and crisp, averaging around 6.5 pounds, which aids in precision shooting. Felt recoil is moderate for its class, manageable for most users with proper technique. However, maintenance can be somewhat intricate, requiring attention to detail during disassembly and cleaning. Availability of replacement parts may also pose a challenge in certain regions. Additionally, some shooters might find the grip texture overly aggressive for prolonged sessions.

Good option for a beginner, only a couple of downs

Very accurate and easy to operate and maintain right out of the box. The field strip process and overall layout is simple to understand and execute. The sights aren’t the greatest out of the factory but highly functional and are replaceable. A huge pro is the modular configuration. Personalizing the pistol to your preferences and needs is stupid easy. While the pistol has a relatively high bore axis, the recoil impulse isn’t unacceptably high and the gun returns to zero very well. I’ve personally found this gun easy to shoot accurately and quickly with relatively low effort and proper grip. One should note the sights are zeroed for a combat hold from the factory (equal height on posts, align front post directly with target point of impact within 10 meters, although personal observation has found the sights accurate with this same alignment out to 20 meters, tested with 124 grain standard pressure Speer Gold Dot). Speaking of, this is not at all a picky gun.
