About the Gun

The P320 X-Five is a full-size, striker-fired polymer competition pistol built on the X-Series platform. It pairs a 5-inch bull barrel and full-length slide with an X-Series grip module that includes an extended beavertail, higher undercut, and removable flared magwell. The slide features lightening cuts on the top and enhanced serrations, and early examples used a flat-faced X-Series trigger along with Dawson fiber-optic front and adjustable rear sights. An accessory rail is standard, and the slide is prepared for optics. The model was offered in 9mm and .40 S&W with a Nitron-finished stainless steel slide.

MSRP at production was around $800–$1,000. Current used market value for examples in good to very good condition ranges $450–$700.

Analysis

SIG introduced the X-Five to give the P320 platform a dedicated competition-oriented configuration. The longer bull barrel, weighted grip options, flared magwell, and improved sights were intended to deliver better control, faster reloads, and a longer sight radius for practical shooting disciplines. It represented the high end of the early X-Series lineup before the later Legion versions added tungsten-infused frames and further refinements. The .40 S&W version had a shorter production run than the 9mm, consistent with SIG’s broader shift away from that caliber. The X-Five established the competition direction that subsequent P320 models, including the X-Five Legion, continued to develop.
