About the Gun

The P938 LEGION is a hammer-fired micro-compact 9mm pistol built on an aluminum-alloy frame with a stainless-steel slide. It carries the Legion series treatment, including a gray Cerakote finish, front cocking serrations, X-RAY3 day/night sights, a precision-machined flat trigger, and black G10 grips with the Legion medallion. An ambidextrous manual safety and extended magwell are standard. The design follows the 1911-style control layout of the broader P938 family.

Analysis

SIG introduced the P938 LEGION in early 2019 to bring the company’s higher-end Legion package to its micro-compact single-action platform. The upgrades—refined trigger, G10 grips, XRAY3 sights, extended magwell, and distinctive Legion Gray finish—positioned it above the standard cosmetic variants of the P938. While most of the earlier finish packages were phased out as the polymer P365 family took over the micro-compact market, the Legion version has remained available as the premium metal-frame option in the line. It continues the original P938 concept of a small, all-metal, single-action 9mm while adding the feature set associated with SIG’s Legion series.
