About the Gun

The SIG Pro was the first polymer-frame handgun from Sig Sauer and one of the first pistols to feature a built-in universal accessory rail and interchangeable grips. The overall design is slightly different from earlier Sig Sauer pistols such as P220 or P226, as there is no separate dis-assembly lever on the frame and the slide release lever looks quite different.

Analysis

This pistol in .357 caliber offers a compelling option for shooters seeking a balance of power and control. Its accuracy is noteworthy, delivering consistent performance at various ranges, while the ergonomic design ensures a comfortable grip for extended sessions. Reliability is a key strength, with the firearm functioning well under diverse conditions, making it suitable for both range use and personal defense. The trigger pull is crisp, averaging around 6.5 pounds in double action, which aids in precision shooting. However, felt recoil can be sharp due to the potent cartridge, potentially challenging for newer shooters. On the downside, maintenance requires attention to detail, as certain components demand regular care to prevent wear. Additionally, sourcing replacement parts may pose difficulties, limiting long-term support for some users. Overall, it’s a capable choice for those prepared to manage its specific demands.
