About the Gun

The SIG Pro was the first polymer-frame handgun from Sig Sauer and one of the first pistols to feature a built-in universal accessory rail and interchangeable grips. The overall design is slightly different from earlier Sig Sauer pistols such as P220 or P226, as there is no separate dis-assembly lever on the frame and the slide release lever looks quite different.

Analysis

This 9mm pistol demonstrates notable strengths that appeal to a wide range of shooters. Its accuracy is commendable, delivering consistent performance at various ranges, which suits both casual and competitive use. The ergonomic design ensures a comfortable grip, accommodating different hand sizes with adjustable backstraps, enhancing control during extended sessions. Reliability is another key asset, with the firearm functioning well under diverse conditions and with various ammunition types. The trigger pull is crisp, averaging around 5.5 pounds in single action, offering a predictable break. Felt recoil is moderate, manageable for most users, aiding in quick follow-up shots. On the downside, maintenance can be somewhat involved, requiring attention to detail for proper care. Availability of replacement parts may pose challenges in certain regions, potentially delaying repairs. Additionally, some shooters might find the overall weight less ideal for concealed carry applications.
