About the Gun

The Savage Stance marked the company’s first striker-fired pistol in over 100 years and its aggressive re-entry into the everyday-carry handgun segment. This single-stack micro-compact was built around a modular stainless-steel chassis wrapped in interchangeable grip modules, aggressive 360° texturing, and ambidextrous controls. Priced to undercut the Sig P365 and Springfield Hellcat while offering a slimmer profile than most double-stacks of the era, it quickly earned a reputation as one of the thinnest, most pointable concealed-carry nines on the market. Despite strong initial sales and favorable reviews for its trigger and ergonomics, the writing was on the wall once high-capacity micros became the dominant trend.

Analysis

In the hand, the Savage Stance delivered refined shootability that belied its low street price. The curved aluminum trigger broke consistently at 5–5.5 lbs. with minimal take-up, a short and audible reset, and no stack—making it feel snappier than most budget single-stacks. Paired with the aggressive 360° stippling and interchangeable backstraps, it locked in for most shooters, taming the lively recoil of a 22-ounce 9mm micro. Timed drills showed low-2-second Bill Drills and sub-1.2-second draws to 7-yard hits for experienced hands, holding its own against the Sig P365 or Glock 43. Groups from a rest hovered at 2–2.5 inches at 25 yards with 124-grain loads, and the tall three-dot sights co-witnessed neatly with suppressor-height upgrades. The original Stance proved a defensive performer well beyond its pay grade, even as the market pivoted to double-stacks.
