Analysis

This compact .40 S&W pistol offers a solid option for concealed carry and personal defense. Its accuracy is commendable for a firearm of this size, delivering consistent groupings at typical engagement distances. The ergonomic design, with a slim profile and textured grip, ensures a secure hold, even during extended shooting sessions. Reliability is a strong suit, with the pistol functioning well under varied conditions, provided it receives proper care. However, maintenance can be somewhat demanding, as disassembly and cleaning require attention to detail. Availability of aftermarket parts and accessories may also be limited compared to more widely adopted platforms. The trigger pull is crisp, averaging around 6 pounds, which suits most shooters, though some may find it slightly heavy. Felt recoil is noticeable due to the caliber and lightweight frame, potentially challenging for newer shooters or those sensitive to kick.

Best boot gun
By Bam420 on 14 Sep 2018
I own 3 different 40. Cal XD models this is the perfect conceal carry gun that out of the 3 I have and the one that was stolen from I’ve never jammed or had a single problem. I carry this one in my boot everyday. I have lost it in the creek and it took me a little over 3 hours to recover due to how cold the water but I knew exactly where it went. Just had to leave it and go get a wetsuit on. I fired all rounds and didn’t have any issues. Was working cattle just last week and rode my 4 wheeler through what was supposed to be a foot of water and it turned out to be 3 ½ ft of muddy water and then I came across a beaver before I could clean it and still no jamming no issues. It’s the best everyday carry gun and simple and safe. I’ve carried an xd everyday for the last 8 years and the xds since it came out in the 40. Loaded and have handle grip safety disabled and not once have I ever had any problems or accidental discharges.
