About the Gun

The model B pistol is the 9 mm Parabellum/Luger variant of the Star's original series of 1911-fashined pistols. This model most closely resembles the modern 1911 style, with the exception of having no grip safety. The Super B variant has internal improvements, such as a SIG style one-piece integral barrel locking ramp rather than the classic two-piece 1911 linkage, and a full length guide rod with captive spring.

Analysis

This 9mm semi-automatic pistol offers a solid blend of performance and practicality for shooters seeking a reliable sidearm. Its accuracy is commendable, delivering consistent groupings at moderate ranges, making it suitable for both casual and defensive use. The ergonomics are well-considered, with a grip that accommodates a variety of hand sizes, ensuring comfort during extended sessions. Reliability is a key asset, as it functions smoothly under diverse conditions with minimal malfunctions when properly maintained. However, maintenance can be somewhat cumbersome due to a design that requires more frequent cleaning to prevent wear. Parts availability may also pose challenges, as replacements are not always readily accessible. The trigger pull is crisp, averaging around 5 pounds in single action, which aids precision. Felt recoil is moderate, manageable for most users, though those sensitive to kick might find it slightly sharp during rapid fire.

Fun 1911 clone in 9mm
By Diecapsule78 on 07 Apr 2020
This pistol is fun to shoot. Has a classic 1911 look to it & handles quite nicely without much recoil being a 9mm & not a true .45 1911.
