About the Gun

The M Series pistol is a polymer frame design employing a Browning-style recoil action. It is striker-fired with a double-action only (DAO) trigger. The modern looking frame style has an ergonomic 111 degree grip angle and low barrel axis, minimizing muzzle lift and felt recoil. The frame includes a proprietary accessory rail forward of the trigger guard. Also unique to the gun are its unusual 'trapezoid' sights, similar in principle to the Glock's square 'U' notch design.

Production

Production of this model began in 1999 and continued through 2010. Initially introduced in the late 1990s, it was manufactured for over a decade before being discontinued, reflecting its popularity during that era.

Analysis

This polymer-framed pistol in 357 SIG offers a compelling package for shooters seeking a balance of power and control. Its accuracy is noteworthy, delivering consistent performance at typical engagement distances, thanks to a well-designed barrel and sight system. Ergonomically, the grip angle and texture provide a secure hold, accommodating a variety of hand sizes with ease. Reliability is a strong suit, with the firearm functioning smoothly under diverse conditions, even with extended use. However, maintenance can be somewhat cumbersome due to a complex disassembly process, which may frustrate less experienced users. Availability of replacement parts can also be a challenge, limiting quick repairs. The trigger pull is crisp, averaging around 5.5 pounds, though some may find it slightly heavy for rapid follow-up shots. Felt recoil is sharp, as expected from the cartridge, but manageable with proper technique.
