About the Gun

The S Series pistol is a polymer frame design employing a Browning-style recoil action. It is striker-fired with a double-action only (DAO) trigger. The modern looking frame style has an ergonomic 111 degree grip angle and low barrel axis, minimizing muzzle lift and felt recoil. The frame includes a proprietary accessory rail forward of the trigger guard. Also unique to the gun are its unusual 'trapezoid' sights, similar in principle to the Glock's square 'U' notch design. This model is effectively a 'cut-down' version of the M series pistol, with a shorter barrel and grip.

Production

Analysis

This 9mm polymer-framed handgun offers a compelling package for shooters seeking a reliable duty or personal defense option. Its accuracy is noteworthy, delivering consistent groupings at typical engagement distances, thanks to a well-designed barrel and sight system. The ergonomic grip provides a natural hold, accommodating various hand sizes with customizable backstraps, which enhances control during firing. Reliability is a strong suit, with the pistol performing well under diverse conditions, even with extended use. The trigger pull is crisp, averaging around 5.5 pounds, offering a predictable break that aids precision. Felt recoil is moderate, manageable for most users, though follow-up shots require some acclimation. On the downside, maintenance can be cumbersome due to a complex disassembly process, and sourcing replacement parts may pose challenges in certain regions. Additionally, some shooters might find the slide release stiff, potentially hindering quick operation.
