The 'Standard' series Millennium pistols are striker fired and incorporate a double-action only (DAO) trigger. The Millennium line includes several innovative safety features including a positive firing pin block as well as the 'Taurus Safety Latch', a transfer bar safety which prevents firing of the pistol unless the trigger is pulled.

Analysis

This 9mm compact pistol offers a solid option for concealed carry and personal defense. Its accuracy is commendable for a firearm in this size class, delivering consistent performance at typical self-defense ranges. The ergonomic design fits well in most hands, with a grip that supports a natural hold, though some users with larger hands may find it slightly cramped. Reliability is a strong point, as it cycles most standard ammunition without frequent malfunctions under regular conditions. However, maintenance can be somewhat cumbersome due to a less intuitive disassembly process, and sourcing replacement parts may pose challenges for some owners. The trigger pull is on the heavier side, which could affect precision for less experienced shooters, while the felt recoil is moderate, manageable for most but noticeable during extended sessions. Overall, it’s a practical choice with a few considerations for long-term use.
