About the Gun

Lightweight revolver chambered for the .380 Auto cartridge. Cartridges are loaded by means of moon clips. The barrel, frame and cylinder have all been trimmed down to take advantage of the smaller .380 cartridge, while the grip, trigger guard and trigger are all still the same size as a typical .38 Special revolver. The rear sight is adjustable with an allen wrench. Early models have rubber grips with a smooth backstrap and medallion. Recent models have rubber grips with a textured backstrap and a thumb rest.

Production

Production of this early model with a stainless finish began in the late 1990s and continued through the early 2000s. Specific manufacturing dates can vary, so checking the serial number with the manufacturer is recommended for precise information.

Analysis

This .380 Auto revolver offers a compact design well-suited for concealed carry, with a focus on simplicity and ease of use. Its accuracy is commendable for a small-frame firearm, providing consistent performance at close to medium ranges. The ergonomics are thoughtfully designed, with a grip that accommodates most hand sizes, enhancing control during firing. Reliability is a strong point, as it functions smoothly with a variety of ammunition types under typical conditions. The trigger pull is notably smooth, with a predictable break in double-action mode, though it may feel slightly heavy for some users. Felt recoil is moderate, manageable for most shooters, even with sustained use. However, maintenance can be somewhat cumbersome due to the revolver’s design, requiring more attention to detail. Additionally, sourcing replacement parts may pose challenges, potentially frustrating owners needing repairs or customization.
