About the Gun

One of the first successful polymer framed designs, Glock handguns are common sidearms among law enforcement agencies and military organizations around the world. Although a striker-fired pistol, the Glock employs a single-action (SA) trigger, meaning that the trigger does not cock the gun, but only releases the striker when pulled. Cocking of the striker is performed by the retracting slide. Glock pistols have no manual safeties. The trigger is the only operating element. All three internal pistol safeties are deactivated when the unique single-action trigger is pulled, and automatically activated when it is released. For more information on the Glock design, please refer to the Glock pistol animation in the Basics section.

Analysis

This 10mm caliber pistol is a robust choice for those seeking a powerful semi-automatic handgun. Its accuracy is commendable, delivering consistent performance at various ranges, making it suitable for both target shooting and personal defense. The ergonomics are well-designed, offering a comfortable grip for most hand sizes, which aids in control during rapid fire. Reliability is a key asset, with the firearm functioning effectively even under harsh conditions. However, maintenance can be somewhat demanding, requiring regular attention to ensure optimal performance. Parts availability may pose a challenge in some regions, potentially delaying repairs. The trigger pull is crisp, averaging around 5.5 pounds, which provides a good balance for precision shooting. Felt recoil is noticeable due to the potent cartridge, and it may be challenging for shooters unaccustomed to higher-powered handguns, necessitating proper training to manage effectively.
