About the Gun

Part of Kahr's Premium Series. Features include a Lothar Walther polygonal rifled match grade barrel, smooth DAO trigger, stainless or blackened stainless slide and an option for night sights. Kahr pistols are striker-fired locked-breech designs, relying on a modification of the Browning dropping-barrel system with a lug above the chamber locking the barrel into the roof of the slide.

Analysis

This compact .40 S&W pistol offers a solid option for concealed carry, with a design focused on practicality and performance. Its accuracy is commendable for a subcompact, delivering consistent groupings at typical self-defense ranges. The ergonomics are well-suited for smaller hands, though those with larger grips may find it less comfortable over extended sessions. Reliability is a strong point, with the firearm cycling smoothly through various ammunition types during testing. However, maintenance can be somewhat cumbersome due to the tight tolerances, requiring more effort for disassembly and cleaning. Parts availability may also pose a challenge, as aftermarket support is limited compared to more common platforms. The trigger pull is crisp, averaging around 6 pounds, though it may feel heavy for some users. Felt recoil is noticeable, given the lightweight frame and powerful caliber, potentially affecting follow-up shots for less experienced shooters.
