About the Gun

The AREX Zero 1 Tactical Compact is a compact, hammer-fired DA/SA pistol on a hard-anodized aluminum frame with a steel slide. It is the shorter-slide, shorter-grip companion to the full-size Zero 1 Tactical and keeps the threaded barrel, optics-ready slide, and accessory rail. Controls are ambidextrous and the slide stop also decocks the hammer. Sights are white three-dot. Finishes include black, FDE, and gray.

Production began in 2018 and is currently ongoing.

Market value

MSRP is around $805. Current used market value for examples in good to very good condition ranges $400–$550.

Analysis

Arex added the Tactical Compact in 2018 after the full-size Zero 1 Tactical. It shortens the barrel and grip of that pistol while retaining the threaded barrel, optics plate, and rail. Magazine capacity drops with the shorter grip. Import followed the rest of the Zero 1 line from FIME Group to Global Ordnance, which still lists black and FDE compact guns. It sits between the Zero 1 CP and the full-size Tactical rather than replacing either.
